Chapter 6
"Ladies and Gentleman, thank you for flying American Eagle, flight
2109 from Denver to L.A. Please put your sets in the upright position and fasten your seat belts."
Looking up from the book in his lap, Kolas rolled his eyes as the plane made it's landing. Boy,
did he hate flying, he would have rather driven himself to California. It's not like it would have been the first time, he
and Joce had driven to California from Wisconsin when they were 17 for thier spring break. But no, Kevin wouldn't hear of
it. Kolas found himself getting annoyed at how much the older man paid attention to Jocelynn, much less that Alex character.
There was something he just couldn't put his finger on, but Kolas swore to himself that he would watch Joce and Drogyn like
a hawk, never leaving their side to insure their saftey. He took his new position as Jocelynn's bodyguard very seriously.
After all she was his best friend since they were in elementry school, not to mention eachother's first love. But now they
were just friends, even though if they were in the correct enviorment, they both knew where they would end up. It had happened
countless times before no matter how much disiplane they both used.
She had warned him in Wyoming, when she had asked him to come with, that they would have to weld and
emence amount of control. Kolas clenched his fist tightly, they had released eachother years ago, making the promise to do
anything in order to remain friends, to remain a strong place in eachothers lives. But he didn't know if he could sit be once
again while she was with someone else. He barely kept his head on straight while she had been married to Joe, and even more
so when she gave birth to Drogyn. Joe hadn't even been there when she had given birth, when Joce collapsed while she was trying
to push, Joe was no where to be found. But he had been there. Kolas had held her hand, coached her, and cut Drogyn's cord.
He would protect Joce and her son with his life, in all asspects. And if Alex did ever step over the line, Kolas was going
to make damn sure that he never crossed it again.
Making his way off the plane, Kolas's phone went off. "Yo."
"You there?"
"No shit, Sherlock."
"Kolas, don't start with me. It's bad enough that I have to deal with a sarcastic and pregnant
Trish."
A deep chuckle rolled threw his chest, "Well Blake, that is your child in there too. Just remember,
you married her." He teased his brother, "So what is she having you call me for now?"
Blake let out a sigh, "She just wants to make sure you knew about the tabliod. Something about
that old one and Joce having an affiar."
Kolas felt his hand tighten around the cellphone, "No I did not. But I will be sure to pick up
a copy here at the airport. Do you think it's true?"
"I dunno man. I mean the pictures seem legit, but then again it's tabliods."
"Well I will make sure that no one harms her. She was out to protect first along with Drogyn."
Kolas muttered as he grabbed a tabliod off counter of one of the airpost stores and payed for it. "Look, I am going to let
you go. I still have to grab my luggage and find Joce, since she is suppose to pick me up."
"Ok man, just becarful. And remember, don't get attached, you made you desision long ago. Don't
put her through hell." Blake warned then hung up.
Taking in a deep breath, Kolas headed toward the baggage claim and grabbed his 2 duffle bags.
"Kolas Andros?" A deep voice said from behind him.
Turning around Kolas looked up at a big man, stood above even over his own 6 foot build. "Yes
I am. And you are?"
"Ron," The man said, "Gina sent me to pick you up. She wants Miss Edwards to rest."
"What happened?!"
Ron looked down at Kolas, seeing the worry, "All I know is that Miss Edwards had an anxiety attack
last evening and Alex had to stay the night with her. I don't know what happened entirely. You will have to ask Miss Edwards
her self. Um, you might want to lossen your grip on that if you plan on reading it." He motioned at the magazine in Kolas'
hand that was completly wrinkled from him holding it so tight as the headed toward the doors.
"Is Joce okay?"
Shrugging Ron admited, "I don't know. I haven't seen Miss Edwards yet. From what I know, her and
Alex were still sleeping when I left to come here."
Looking down at his watch, Kolas noticed it was a lil after 10:20 in the morning. As soon as they
made it to the house, Kolas was going to make sure that Joce was okay, and then make it clear to everyone that if they hurt
her they will deal with him. Jumping into the truck in the parking lot of the airport, Kolas decided to make Ron a friend.
"So, can you fill me in on this whole body guard and tour thing?"
A deep chuckle came from Ron, "Man, let me tell you one thing. It's the toughest job in the world..."
He started off with as they headed away from the airport.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her body ached with every breath she took as she started to awake. It was painful for her just
to arch her back and streach like she normally did in the morning. Everything hurt, and ached like she had just done a triathalon.
Slowly she opened her eyes but quickly shut them, the sun light that had managed to seep into the room was directly in her
face. Letting out a small groan or annoyiness she rolled over in the bed.
"Opff!" She let out as her head came in contact with the wall. She brought up her hand to it in order
to push herself away but found cloth and skin. Her eyes shot open as she found herself face to face with a man's chest. She
didn't know what hurt more the sunlight or the fear in her chest. Tilting her head up she found herself looking into the rich
brown eyes that had been haunting her thoughts while she has slept. "Alex..." His name was wispered of her lips in a soft
exhale.
"Good morning, Jocelynn." He said softly as he brushed her hair from her face, "How are you feeling?"
"What are you doing here?" She asked after licking her lips. Her mouth felt like a cotton ball
was in it, and it tasted horrible.
"Do you not remember last night? We eloped in Vegas." Alex teased as he kissed her forehead. But
seeing her eyes widen made him nearly burst out laughing, "I was joking. I was trying to lighten the mood. Don't you remember
what happened last night? The anxiety attack?"
Shaking her head in confusion, she tried to sit up, "I had an attack? All I remember was being
on the phone with Joe and then-. Oh, god that's it--" Joce said as the converstation came back flooding into her mind. Her
heart learched recalling Joe's threat of trying to take Drogyn from her, then demanding a paternaty test. She couldn't let
that happen. She refused to let Drogyn loose the only father he had ever known. She had vowed to take that secret with her
to the grave.
Alex sat up next to her, and touched her shoulder. Her frustration and dispare was so strong that
it nearly eat him alive. Quickly taking his hand off her, he tried to pull her around to face him, "Jocelynn, what happened?"
*Knock* *Knock*
Joce turned her head to the door of the pool house but Alex pulled on her shoulders to make her
face him, "Ignore it." He said to her. "What happened?"
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
"Jocelynn open the door NOW!" A voice boomed through the pool house. Joce pulled out of Alex's
grasp and he felt as if she was pulling away from him. He had a feeling who was at the door and it wasn't someone he wanted
to deal with.
"Kolas." Alex heard her voice say after the door clicked open, "What are you doing here already?"
"Great the 'Human Sheild' has arrived." Alex muttered as he dropped his face into his hands.
Without a word Kolas barged into the pool house and searched for the bedroom. Apone entering it,
Kolas grabbed Alex by the arms and pinned him up against the wall, "What did you do to her?!" He growled in such a deep manner
that Alex felt all the blood drain from his face. Kolas slamed him against the wall again, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER!" he demanded.
