Nick followed Lari into the kitchen, he heard the front foor close after everyone
shouted they would be back in a few. Standing there in the middle of the kitchen he took in the sight of her, her face had
a honey glow that seemed to beem from her. Her golden eyes seemed to shine and sparkle, pregnancy made her even mroe beautiful
then he thought was ever possible.
She walked to the fridge and opened the fridge, pulling out quite a few steaks and
chicken breasts that were in packages. Nick laughed at the large stack that was on the kitchen's island, "Ya sure ya got enough
food there?"
Lari counted the packages as she pulled her hair back in a ponytail, using the scrunchy
that was around her wrist, "Actually, I am not sure... lets see... there is 1, 2, 4..... 10 of us total... and I have....
only 12 steaks and 6 chicken breast... plus I have homemade mac n chesse in the oven to keep warm, some potatoe salad, fresh
fruit and veggies.... deviled eggs... Hmm, I hope that will be enough..."
"It will be enough for an army... so what can I help you with?"
"Actually all I need for you to do is help me season the steaks and chicken and
grill them. Trish already has the grill ready outside, and since I am so.. well... big I can't grill them myself."
Nick nodded as he stood next to her at started to unwrap the meats, "Lari?"
"Yeah?"
"I have missed you."He whispered
Lari took in a slow breath, "I have missed you too."
"Is there anyway we can work thru this?"
"I don't know. I really don't know."
"Do you still love me?"
"I don't know, I think so. It's just that, Nick you fucked up royal, ya know that?"
She said not looking at him, "I mean honestly, what ever we fought about that night was not bad enough where you would have
had a reason to get plastered. Do you have any idea what I went thru? Arie came up to me and bragged about you and her back
together, getting married. And you coming down shortly after her. Look, I know I am just as bad for not hearing you out. Even
after I heard that is was all a lie on the news. And I know that I should have told you about the pregnancy, but I was scared.
I didn't want to bring the media barging down on you and the guys once the pregnancy got out. I just wanted to have a calm
pregnancy and not have the world looking in for once."
Nick looked at her, hopeing to catch a glance, "I know what I did was wrong Lari.
I know that, and you have got to believe me I am sorry for it. The past 5 months I have been a wreak, I mean look at me I
am still in the same cloths as I was yesterday. Lari I didn't mean to drink as much as I did. You have got to believe me."
He pleaded as they walked out on the porch with the meats and seasonings.
Lari set her plate on the brick counter that the grill was built into, then took
a seat on one of the plush, rocking patrio chairs at the outside table, "Believing you is the easy part. Forgiving is a completly
different story."
Nick turned to her after he put the meat on the grill and seasoned them. She just
rocked back and for on the patio chair, her eyes staring off at the distance as a single tead fell down her cheek. He walked
quickly over to her, grabbed a chair and sat in front of her grabbing her hands as he leaned forward.
"Lari, I will do anything it takes to make it up to you. I love you, I never stop.
I haven't had a drop to drink since that night, I promise that I will never drink again. Anything if we can be us again. The
way we were before."
"Nick, we can never go back to the way we were before. You have changed, I have
changed, and now there are 2 babies on the way. I can't just jump back into a relationship with you. I am too scared."
He looked at her with tears in his eyes, "You mean that there is no chane for us?"
"I don't know, we have to have some sort of relationship if we are going to raise
the children together. If you want to be in their lives that is."She softly said as she looked down at their hands.
Nick brought his hand to her cheek, bringing her face up to his and wipped a tear
away with his thumb, "Of course I want to be in their lives, 100%. They are OUR children Lari, and I love you and them all
the more for that. But please can you and I try to make a go of it again, not because of the babies. But because of us? Because
you know you still love me? We can even start all over agian if it means I get your trust back. Anything if you will forgive
me, Please Lari-doll?"
Lari nodded, "We can try, taking it slow. But there is a long way to go."
Nick rose, leaning over her and kissed all over her face, "Thank you, and I don't
care how long it takes, I will make it up to you."
"Ok- enough," Lari giggled as she pushed him off of her. "Go check on the food.
I am going to go inside and get the side stuff together." She added as Nick helped her up from the chair, "God, I am so ready
to be done with this pregnancy."
